Ready to draw names?
Create your free account to organize the Secret Santa. It takes less than a minute, and participants don't need an account.
Secret Santa without slips of paper and without drawing names in the group chat. You create your free account, type the names, click draw and get a link for each participant — who doesn't need to install anything or create an account. Each person opens their own link and sees only who they got.
The organizer doesn't see anything — not during the draw, not afterwards. That's on purpose: in most groups the organizer also takes part, and an organizer who can see the pairs loses their own surprise.
How it works
Sign in to your account and fill in the participants' names. You need at least three names, all different from each other — two "Ana"s in the same group would make any combination ambiguous.
Below the names there's an optional rules section: each line marks two people who can't draw each other, and the rule works both ways — the classic "couples don't draw each other". If the rules you set don't allow any draw at all, the screen comes back with everything filled in and warns you, without creating any group.
If you like, also fill in the group name, the event date, the gift spending limit and the location. None of these fields is required, but all of them show up later on each participant's screen, next to the name of the person they got. It's the simplest way for everyone to remember how much to spend and where the exchange will happen.
Click Draw Secret Santa. The draw happens instantly and the next screen already has the links.
What you get after the draw
Two things, on the same screen.
One link per participant. Each link is individual and reveals only that person's result. Next to each one there's a copy button and a WhatsApp button, which opens the app with a message already written — you just pick the chat.
An organizer link. It's how you get back to the group later: see who has opened their link, generate a new link for anyone who lost theirs, change the participant list and redo the draw. It shows only once, on that screen, and can't be recovered later — save it before closing the page.
What each participant sees
When they open the link, the person lands on a confirmation screen that only asks whether the link is theirs. Nothing is revealed there. The drawn name only appears after they click the reveal button.
This two-step split exists because messaging apps open the page on their own to build the link preview. If the result showed on the first screen, WhatsApp would give away the name in the chat preview card before anyone clicked.
How much it costs
The draw is free. The organizer creates a free account before drawing — no cost and no card — and with it can draw groups of up to a hundred participants. Participants don't need any account: they just open the link they got.
After everyone has their link
With the organizer link you can follow, per participant, whether the person has opened their link and whether they've revealed their result. That answers the most common question organizers have: "has everyone seen it?".
If someone deleted the chat and lost their link, generate a new link just for that person — their result stays the same.
To redo the draw, the draw-again button shuffles the same participants. As long as nobody has revealed, the links you already sent stay valid, and the screen tells you so: no need to resend anything. After the first person reveals, the site asks for confirmation first — redoing it at that point changes everyone's link, and the screen gives you the new ones to hand out.
The same screen lets you edit the participant list: add someone who showed up later, remove someone who dropped out and fix a mistyped name. Fixing a name changes nothing else — that person's link stays valid and the draw still stands. Adding or removing, however, invalidates the current draw, because whoever joined has no pair and whoever left leaves a gap in the circle: the screen warns you first, and the next step is to click draw again. Removing also stops at the minimum of three participants, which is the floor for a Secret Santa.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to draw names?
The organizer does: the account is free and asks for no card or payment. Participants don't — each person just opens the link they got.
Can the organizer see who got whom?
No. Not on the result screen, not on the management screen. The site only shows the organizer the links and who has opened each one.
Can I use the same link for everyone?
No — and that's a good thing. Each participant has their own link, and that's what identifies the person when revealing. A single link for the group would show the same result to everyone.
What happens if someone opens another person's link?
Whoever has the link can reveal that result. That's why you should send each link in a private chat, never in the group. If a link ended up in the wrong place, generate a new link for that person with your organizer link.
Can I redo the draw?
Yes. With the organizer link, the draw-again button shuffles the same participants again. If nobody has revealed yet, the links already sent stay valid. If someone has already revealed, the site asks for confirmation and then changes everyone's link — the new ones show on screen for you to resend.
Someone dropped out. Can I take them out of the group?
Yes, with your organizer link: each participant has a remove button, and the field at the end of the list adds anyone who joined later — the new person's link shows up right away, on that same screen; save it before moving on, because it won't show again. Both adding and removing invalidate the current draw, so the next step is to click draw again. If nobody has revealed their result yet, the links of people already in the group stay the same — only the link of whoever joined after the previous draw changes, and you already have that one. If someone has already revealed, the site asks for confirmation and changes everyone's link, and that's when the screen gives you the new ones to resend. The group can't go below three participants.
Can everyone say what they'd like to get?
Yes. After revealing, the participant's own screen has a wishlist form: item name, plus an optional link, approximate price and note. Whoever got that person sees this list on their screen, next to the drawn name — and nobody else in the group does.
Is it really free?
Yes. The tool is free and supported by ads. There is no paid version of the draw on the website.
